New York snowbirds find warmth in their winter retreat designed by Barley & Pfeiffer Architects. Expecting to accommodate their four daughters with growing families, the architects incorporated window seats in the guest bedrooms that will function as beds for the multiplying toddlers. Excellently crafted by Oliver Brothers Custom Homes, every detail was personalized for the couple, including a low baking counter for her petite frame.
The rural setting inspired a quiet palette with natural finish materials to complement the countryside. Oak floors and cherry cabinets accentuate the chopped limestone fireplace and warm the grey furnishings. Earthy ceramic tiles, pebbles and shells were mixed with metal and glass throughout the house.
The home is destined to provide a comfortable setting for new family traditions both inside and out.
